Default Decisions, decisions...

ALright guys, I'm stuck on this one. I've got my 250R that needs a new crank, new exhaust and possibly new head. I can probably get an used crank for less than $100 on Ebay, and a stock exhaust for less than $50 on Ebay as well. The head I'm not so sure about, it has some "pits" in the combustion chamber and I don't know if it will cause hot spots which could lead to pre-detonation. Those are cheap on Ebay too. Now, I can rebuild it to it's original state for less than $500, and have a nice stock trike again. My second thought is to find a liquid cooled CR500 to drop in their. That's quite a bit more, and I have to fab up new mounts, and figure out a way to reduce vibration and all that good stuff that comes with doing conversions, but have an even faster trike that nothing butbuilt Banshee's can touch. My last 2 idea's are to just sell the thing outright for about $500 as is and save the money, then when tax return time comes around drop about 2-3K on a new 450. Last option would be to sell it after fixing for hopefully $1500, then buy a TRX250R when I get my tax return money. When the bike was running, I loved it. I got beat once by a C-Dale and a KTM 520SX, thats it, and my bike was stock! However, I have always dreamed of racing MX and obviously that just won't happen on the trike but 70% of my riding is trails(both tight and long wide open) and a little bit of duning. The trike does awesome in these conditons, but when I see a double, I have to look away because the sotck suspension just can't handle it with my big as$ on their, which is the only reason for me wanting a quad. So, what should I do?

Why not use what you can from your ATC and build a TRX. Even if you dont get radical with the motor now, you could probibly do it up right for less than 2500, then part out the ATC.

Sorry to say, but with your riding style, selling it as is, and buying a quad with your TR $$$ would be the best thing to do.
BUT.....BUT....that CR500 idea sounds wicked.... It would be woth the money!!
