I love the old trikes but I wouldn't give up my quad for the world. I've seen a lot of guys saying that quaders get mad when a trike beats them...HUH? I don't think I've ever seen anyone get mad because the get roosted. I have a 1981 dirt bike that can hang with my CR500. Age means nothing. Trikes are not as hard to ride as you guys try to make them sound. I grew up on a 110 and then raced on a 250R for a while.

And Shotgun, there is no way the truck was stuck very bad at all if an ATC110 pulled it out.

Trikes are dangerous...Stay away!

Let me know if you want me to dispose of them for you?

I have never set foot on a 3 wheeler and never will as I don't like them. I have seen too many people injured on them due to their innate instability and the lack of the rider to appreciate and compensate for that instability. As with a dirt bike of which I have owned and enjoyed many, a 3 wheeler does take more skill to ride well and safely than a 4wheel ATV. If you are one of those then have at it, but for me I will take a dirt bike or 4 wheel ATV.

I do accept the fact that there will be "liability" issues for owners of land on which these are ridden. Where I hunt the roads/trails are literally teeming with 3 wheel ATV's that are ridden only once a year, these are not skilled riders, but merely individuals who have hung onto them because they don't ride enough to get something new. I know them, they are friends of mine.

No offense but this thread was started in 2005 .My personal opinion, they can be dangerous in the wrong hands, which most of the time they are!But in the rite hands they will kill most new quads in a race.

love my quads. wouldn't give em up for the world. 2 brute force 650s. but, i'm still in love with my yamaha 225dx trike. that thing would go places my quads wouldn't. get that front tire through and the rest will follow. ran over my ankle more times than i can count. i was young and dumn. rode like a kid and got hurt like a kid. got stuck in mud, picked up the rear end and moved er. not the quads too heavy.
would we be having this conversation if the quads came out first??????????
ride it like ya stole it.

This should say a lot for the trikes, but sometimes when I am out in the desert, swinging a leg over my 185 will give me a bigger rush than my old zilla will. The way they turn, the way they fly, and the perspective one has to take when looking at trail obsticles is completely different from both 2 and 4 wheels. This is why I will always have a trike (or 3) in my fleet.

And props to my man blacksheep for modernizing these monsters. go 450s!
I still would love to stuff one of the new husqvarna 450 or 510 motors in a trike.
