Default ATC250R rear shock issues

Hey guys...

I have a major problem - my rear shcok is more like a pogo stick. Whenever I hit anything even remotely large (ruts, jumps, whoops) - the bikes rear bottoms out every time.
I'm afraid that the shcok is going to shoot me in the a$$ one of these times..

What can be done about this?

Where can I send it in for a rebuild/refill/new spring/etc...

My wife won't let me spend more than a couple hundred bucks on this... She want money to buy herself a toy... (Shes just jealous)..

Give Fineline Suspension a call. http://www.finelinesuspension.com/

they might be able to rebuild your shock for you. if not maybe they could suggest a replacement within your budget.

Im pretty sure the stock one cant be rebuild, but if it is the stock one it probly just needs to be re-charged where they put new Nitrogen in it.

If the shaft is not pitted and its in good shape the simple recharge should work. If the shaft is pitted they could re-chrome the shaft and replace all the seals and rebuild from there. It all depends on the shape of the shock.

The stock ones can be rebuilt. I have had an ATC250R done before. Usually about $50-$100 depending on what new parts are needed.

I had mine rebuilt for $75 (here in St.Louis), that was new oil, nitrogen, seals and the regulator piece inside, but the shaft had to be spotless.
