I just bought an 85 200X, and I was looking at getting some body parts to freshen up the look. I have a friend who is a dealer, so I can get everything at dealer-cost. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] It's going to be all red with a silver frame and swingarm. I'm basically going to replicate the newer Honda look. I know that an 85-86 ATC250R front fender will bolt right on, but what about the headlight? Will a 250R headlight fit the front of the 200X? I know that the triple clamps are very similar, so if I can do it, I will. Also, does anyone here have a DG Krome Power exhaust? I can either get one of those or the Cobra alloy exhaust kit. I'm leaning more towards the DG because I don't like how the paint gets fried on the Cobra header and lets it rust. I dunno, I might just ceramic coat the Cobra header because the DG's chrome can turn blue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't directly comment on the exhausts, but I beleive both are going to be pretty loud when compaired to stock.

 

If you want to spend the Extra cash then get a DG Xccelerator system for it. Looks nice sounds tough and will perform better than either of the other 2 aformentioned pipes.

 

I've got some time to think about the exhaust system. My friend has a 200X with the Cobra pipe, and it's not too loud. I despise really loud redneck pipes, and the Cobra is about as loud as I can tolerate. I'll look into the Xcellerator pipe. Another thought was to use a 250F dirt bike muffler for a custom setup.

I'm still wondering about the 85-86 250R headlight, though. I would really like to run one. It would certainly make it different, and I'm all for induviduality.

The 350x headlight will work on the 200x and I think it looks pretty cool. Check out my pics, you can also see the DG Xccelerator and the 250r front fender as well.

That's a good lookin' 200X, Jeff! I bought an 85 250R headlight globe off Ebay last week, and I am going to get a Maier headlight shroud for it. Did you use 86-87 200X rubber straps for your light? I know that the 350X/250R straps are longer because the fork tubes' diameter is larger. If I can't find some nice straps, I'll just use some 1/2" wide black zip-ties. My bike has a steel Cobra exhaust on it, but all of the packing has been blown out and the muffler is rusty. My buddy already found a nice aluminum Cobra muffler out at the dunes for me, so he put it on. Looks like I will be ceramic coating the header now. The rubber straps are the OEM ones that came with the headlight, fits good and tight.
