Default difference in cams?

I was looking to install cams in my raptor 350. I was wondering how much performance they will give. I was also wondering the difference between stage one and two cams . Thanks

Try the yamaha forum, you'll get more responses.

Your raptor 350 doesn't have cam(s). It has one cam. Changing the cam will provide a nice, noticeable increase in power. It will work better if you also upgrade your exhaust and intake (I see that you have already done that). As for the different (stages): That is just sales terminology. The lift and duration of the cam determines when, how long, and how far your valves open. Some cams are more aggressive than others. Also cams are designed to produce power at different RPM levels. Some provide a nice increase in hp from low to high rpms. Others are designed for mostly a high ( or mid-range, or low end) hp gain. Anyway you see where I going.

The "stage 2" is probably just a more aggressive cam than the "stage 1" thus producing more horsepower. Getting too radical may not be the best plan if you mainly use your bike for trail riding.
