Atc 250r Reed Spacer.
#1
Hello everyone.
What advantages will I gain from using a reed spacer just under a quarter inch in thickness ?
Would installing such a spacer require me to make any other adjustments to the engine or carb or is it just a matter of bolting it
in place with a couple of fresh gaskets.
Thanx allot

Thats a nice looking atc u have there brian.
I am waiting for an lrd silencer in the mail right now.
How do you like yours ?
Is the one you have there made for the atc or is it for the trx?
If I am corret I think the trx is a little longer ?
Is that blue paint on your covers powder ?
I like your setup.

reed spacers don't do enough to even worry about,,, if thats the only modification your making,,,, i think it would take a dyno run to see any difference ,,, i have a 3/8 spacer on one of my 250r's and i didn't feel any difference upon installation

Thanks this is my first 250r it was all stock when i got it the lrd i got on my bike is for a trx i had some troble putting it on becuase i didnt had a exhuast hanger and it wouldnt line up with the hole in the frame but i just picked one up. I like it but on alot of the lrd's that i have seen all had some kind of problems with leakin a little oil out of the back of it where the pipe is welded rite on to the silincer itself

I don't like the spacers, they increase the crankcase volume and do very little. On some bikes there are some problems with the fitment of the airbox boot. It's like you are adding an extra 3/8" to the intake tract between the cylinder and the box, it's got to come from somewhere, usually kinking the boot (sometimes closing it off completely).

they are good for carb swaps. if you go with a flatslide carb ,they make up the length difference in the shorter carbs. also the entire airbox does have adjustability if you look at it .
