ok UPDATE.......

tank wasnt very rusty. put some decent sized sockets in there, shook them around. everything seems to be ok. prolly not perfect but it wasnt that bad. i jus have obesessive complusive LOL.

BUT....... now i had it runnin, was runnin ruff took a while to idle decent due to sittin for a few years i guess. then i get it to were i can give it gas and it not die.

BUT........ then the carb keeps like overflowing ( fillin up ) and the plug fouls out. did it twice in like 25 minutes.

after the first time i jus let it sit for a while and cleacned the plug it started back up , ran about 10 minutes did it again.

PLEASE ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED.. thank you.

and THRASH no doubt. i jus got this as a lil toy, my real toy is a 2003 suzuki gsxr 1000......... bad boy LOL

i figured it was something in the carbs. but was hopin to find out for sure what .

Thats mainly because Im in Northern Illinois, by Wisconsin.

 

there a good chance that those little rust particals are all in your carb

float valve
pilot jet
slow jet

clean her out really good with air,,,,each circuit

rinse the tank a few times with fuel,,,,and use an inline filter to help catch the rest of the gunk

 

get your butt down here so I can take you some place to see if that 250R will fly! A nice little MX track should give you a workout!

ok got everything good to go . starts up runs decent and what not. BUT now if i turn the choke off it wants to die?

is the idle turned down too low. maybe jus hasnt really warmed up enuff from sittin over a year or more? any help guys?

 

Run it until it is fully warmed up, and set the idle with the choke off. A air cooled engine will run different when it is cold VS warm, so set it when it is warm.
