Yep. At the very top of each sode of the forks, there is an air cap. unscrew it just like the tire nozzle, and give it a little blast of air. That should do the trick. BUT do not go too much. all it should take it literally a little tap of air. If that doesnt work, then we will go from there.

Good luck. ~Ryan

no problem.

If that doesnt work, say something, and we will have you try something else, orfind a place to buy parts.

It isnt anything serious though.

Do not put air in the forks. People have been doing it for years, but many seals have been blown because of it. If the forks are getting soft, replace the seals and fluid. While you're in there, check the condition of the springs.

From the book No you should not put air in the front forks
From meScrew the book in this case only (so far that I have read). I had new fork seals, oil ect. and I had to put 35psi+ in them so I could ride it, NEVER leaked a drop! I am only 180# at 6' 4" and the front was way too weak! I did a half of a pump from a bike pump before I rode and it lasted all day + a touch.

I agree, it the seals are starting to go anyway, why not try to get a little more life out of them by resealing them under a little air pressure?

im with Nicname on this, no air. a shop can put new fluid and seals in her in a matter of an hour or so. air blows seals, but if you're looking for a quick fix, itll do i guess. extended swing arms puts leverage on the front end so our forks get abused a lot more and i always bleed air out of the forks periodically. a lot of pro MX guys actually have drilled and tapped little quick-release buttons to do this. pressure will build up from time to time on its own and is known to blown seals.

do it right, get new seals and fluid and have a professional look at the springs and determine if they need to be replaced.

put it this way, if you dont do it now, air is only going to compound the problem by blowing the seals a lot sooner.

hope this helps.

My manual says to put in 1 psi but make sure to use a hand pump. No compressor.
