Yup rotax did make the engine and it is made by Tiger

the tiger 500 has rotax on the cases isnt that what ds650 has. at some point i read somewhere that honda was actually planning on making the atc500r back in the day, i saw a service manual on service honda and there was actually an atc500r manual but out of stock.

i dont know why you guys dont think its possible to get a cr500 to 80 hp
i've got a dyno printout of my dad's LT250/500 pushing 91 hp to the wheels from trinity racing's dyno.. Harry M. couldnt believe his eyes when he saw the numbers.. he kept feeling the cylinder to make sure it wasnt running methonal...
it had a 44mm mikuni taper bored to 46mm.. custom built side pipe and porting by my dad, o-ring head.. etc..

there was an old magazine article about the 2 stroke three wheelers from yamaha, honda, and kawasaki. the article was titled, 2 stroke shootout. they did comparisons on the tecate, 250R, and the tri-z. they did acceleration, top speed, cornering, and suspension. tecate was the fastest at 89 mph, tri-z was second at 85 mph, and the 250R was right behind it at 84 mph. Cornering and suspension was the 250R's best feature. As far as acceleration, the tecate took that as well with the tri-z following just slightly behind and the 250R slightly behind it. They are all awesome machines. If your thinking of getting one of these three trikes anyone of them would be a great one. I would pick one on the way they look. They all have distinctive features. The tri-z's gas tank is under the seat. It holds more gas and gives it a great center of gravity for cornering and jumping.
