This isn't really a Honda ATV question this is more of an all manufactures question and for everyone else. Why does everyone get into big ATVs like the Raptor and the Grizzly and the New Kawasaki Prairie 650? The Bombardier doesn't count because it sucks. Anyway, 4-wheelers like these are worthless. I own a 97 300ex and stayed right beside a Raptor on a wide open trail. The only reason you would need a raptor is if your going to race. Your hardly ever going to use all the power it has. The big utility 4-wheelers anr useless as well unless you are doing heavy work. They are no good for going mudding or just riding around. They get you nothing in the mud except more stuck than you already are. I have a friend with a 3-wheeler than can go through every mudhole he can find. A big 4-wheeler like a grizzly comes along and gets stuck. Bigger doesn't mean better. The grizzly and all other big utility 4-wheelers are useless. The biggest 4-wheeler should be kept around 400-450. Not anything else. Thats the same with dirtbikes. Why a 500 2-stroke? Good god the only time your gonna use that is running from the police. Which most of the time you can get away on a Honda 90. My question is why? Why do some of you waste thousands of dollars on big 4-wheelers when you can get all the 4-wheeler you'll ever use spending a whole lot less?

Because my DS (that sucks according to you) has a "pull" that hooks you. Once you feel that power you won't go back. And yes, I do trail ride & only race on occasion. If you like your 300 so be it, I like to feel the power a big quad has to offer. Plus big quads just "fits" better.

Yes- I am with 97300EXGUY. He has a very valid point. But, so does Andrew. Some like the "pull" and others do not. Once again, it all comes down to the type of rider you are. Size, experience, and ***** has a lot to do with what size machine you get. But for those who are looking at getting a machine, remember this...this day in age, the only difference in machines is the size. No matter how big the machine is, I am a firm believer in that it is 85% rider and 15% machine.

Let the rippin' begin. I'm ready for y'all to rip me to SH*!.

I like to know its there when I need it. Say... When I am outrunning giant boulders or Hoards of Aborigines.

Banshee and a 400ex isn't what I'm talking about. The banshee is close since it is 2 stroke and can stay beside a raptor. I'm talking about 500+ engine sizes.

Yea, you're right. In fact they should stop selling cars with engines that are more than 2.0 liters and nobody really needs a full size 4x4 truck and all streetbikes should be limited to 250cc as well. Also, nobody should be allowed to buy a house that is any bigger than they need, and it should only have enough property around it to fit the bare necessities. And while we're at it, the same should apply to boats, snowmobiles, horses and dogs.

300EX guy you probably haven't rode any of those fourwheelers you bashed and i'll bet every single one of them will walk away from your wimpy 300EX. theres this thing called the sand dunes. people like to go there and ride. thats where you can use a 500cc 2 stroke. the bomb does not suck and either do raptors, quadzillas, or any of the other quads you mentioned. different quads are for diffrerent people. i know around here there are plenty of places to use all the power a raptor would have.

Wouldnt the world be a very boring place if everybody had the same opinons.Personally I dont care what someonelse buys the way I see it if they want to spend their money on a 500+ quad thats their business not mine.I would rather spend my time doing other things than trying to figure out why people think different.

Well i think a Polaris 500 4x4 isn't useless since it took one of those to pull me out of some type of 2 foot deep glue mud.
