I know for an 05 450R that all you have to do is unhook the ignition switch and it will start and run. (makes them easy take off with which I don't like) To get the lights to work we just started the bike without the key pluged in and I used a jumper to see which wires made the lights come one. Wired them to together and presto you are without a key. We did this on my buddies bike when he changed handlebars and didn't want the key anymore.

On the 05 450R under the hood there is a factory connection. All you have to do is unplug it. On my older Kawasaki (1978 KE 175 induro) the same connection was under the gas tank and would have the same effect on the ignition. If unpluged it would start and run but the lights did not work.

i fig out that the gree and black were both grounds. so i put a switch connecting the red and yellow, and it turns the ignition on... but now i dont tink i have any spark. it dosetn start, and gas keeps leaking out of the overflow hose. i put a test light... grounded to the ground and turned the engine over and no light when i put the light in the plug wire. what would suddlenly make it not have any spark? it was working fine before.

I would think you have a connection bad somewhere. Check everything again to make sure. The overflow hose is a seperate issue. I would clean the bowl and make sure nothing has gotten in there. I have had the problem of checking for spark and not having my light grounded good enough so I didn't think it was trying to start. I prefere the screwdriver method for checking for spark. Maybe a little redneck but it has always worked for me. Plus that way I can tell if my spark is weak or not.

yeah, haha funny thing is i can never find a screw driver small enough all i can find is big *** flat heads. but i talked to a redneck frind of mine. he said he had one like it and he knew why... he said there is a kill switch to the coil or something on the ignition and that it need the key... or id have to "un kill" that wire, but he didnt tell me which wire. so ima cal honda and see about getting a new ignition. or key
