Default need carb help big red

I got a rebuild kit for the carb on my 84 big red ATC 200E...and have an small o-ring leftover. I found no o-rings of that size in the carb (like maybe 3/16 O.D. approx), and the drawings in the clymer book and the ones posted here on the site are too rough to read where the darn thing goes. Can anybody explain its location to me in simple terms? The machine runs fine, but the idle does'nt sound right and won't stay consistant .....especially if you want it to idle low. I assume it has something to do with that.. Thanks....

I believe there are two (2) little black o-rings on that carb. One goes on the air/fuel mixture screw on the bottom of the carb. The other goes on the idle adjust screw on the side of the carb. If you're not sure which parts I'm describing, you can do a search on this forum for carb diagrams. I know I've seen them (or links to them). Judging by the sounds of your symptoms, my guess is that you are missing the o-ring on the fuel/air mixture screw. Hope this helps.
