KAW Ignition or Carburetor problem - 83 KLT 200 A3

They show up around Dallas every so often on E-bay as well as the panhandle / Oki and Colorado, not so much in South central, you looking at 800 + for a fixer, 1500+ for one in good top notch condition. wrenching them is a near full time job, they vibrate more than a little, but a world of fun.
Buy a Honda 200X, 250 SX, or 350 x they're 4 stroke suspended sport bike vs the 2 stroke race bike, alot more fun to ride and alot less maintenance.

Hey forgot to ask, do you get your oil filters at Kawi shop too? If so, do you request for KLT200 A3 or for KZ200? I'm just wondering because the last time in the Kawi shop they told me they carried no parts for it.

even the Honda shop carries them (Oil filters), they are a pretty standard unit, 200's 250's even the older bayou 300 take the same one probably a standard unit for something Honda has as well cause they've got lots in stock all the time.
Find out what the olest K shop is around the country; they have parts, service, and even a tech which has worked on 'em. The new shops have squat beyond about 93 from what I've seen.

And now for the happy ending. I am so pleased to be writing this.
I bought this machine and started the resto for 1 reason, to move a bunch of dirt.
This KLT200 and my trailer and spreader moved and distributed 12 yards of dirt over 13 hours on Saturday.
It started every time I asked it to, it pulled like a mule, and it never complained! The thing is running like a top!
I am thrilled that my plan came to fruition, and I learned a hell of a lot about old kawi KLTs thanks to you oldkawi. Many thanks! Remember the beer is on me next time you're in Texas.

Keep me posted on life with the black 3 wheeler, its good to see a success story with them once in a while.
My luck was a little worse early this year.
Had a heart attack on the second of January not doing a lot of repairs right now and almost no riding ---really kicked my butt. 44 years old no health issues and a heart attack, really bites to watch my kids ride and I walk for another 2 months, other than my 5 year olds Honda 90 is on a tether so she takes me out for excersize - a mile or 2 walking behind her machine hanging on the tether .....it's just not the same.
