83-200 atc

Default 83-200 atc

Hi does someone know how to test ignition coil for spark plug, should there be a certain ohms resistance.Just the coil without wire.
from primary to ground secondary to ground or between primary and secondary.

remove coil from bike. primary side to ground should be around 1 ohm. secondary side to ground w/ the plug cap removed will be around 5K ohms. plug cap itself will be around 5k ohms also.

No offence, but when you Ohm out something...the specs are never "around" they are exact range.......had a coil at work yesterday that failed a Ohm test by 0.2 ohms and we replaced the $300 coil.

Primary.... 0.2-0.8
Secondary....8-15K

Thanks for the tip tested it off bike sec to gr, pri. to gr , sec to pri all read 345 ohms
