250R ATC motor compatibility

will a 1984 250r atc motor fit a 1982 frame? Are the 1981 through 1984 motors all the same?

Welcome to the forums!!! I don't believe they are exactly the same, but are very close. If it doesn't fit, it shouldn't take muck to make it fit. Good luck, the 84 is a strong reliable engine.

The engine itself should be the same and fit no problem.

You must change out the shifter shaft, 81-82 are the same 83-84 the same.
