200m timing adjustment

Default 200m timing adjustment

does someone have pictures of how to adjust the timing on this honda atc? its not running right now it has spark and gas but i think the timing is off cuz i just rebuilt it and didnt do the timing

Have you checked out atc 200s problems and questions Thrashandtrashunilitstrash tells them how to set the timing.

I did the ignition timing on my 200M last weekend following the steps in the Clymer manual.
The main problem that I encountered was finding the little circular timing mark, I cant understand why Honda made it so inconspicuous. After I found the circle mark, my timing light had difficulty illuminating it due it's location.
I ended up putting a very minor mark on the outside of the rotor directly in line with the circle, the timing light was able to find this mark much easier. I have read numerous posts about the "T" and "F" marks on the rotor, but my motor did not seem to have these markings???

you dont need a timing light. The T and F are on the flywheel.....they can be a little hard to see at first, but they are there. you only use the T for setting the cam gear, and valves. and use the F for setting the rotor.

behind the left side cover on the side of the shifter.

So the side cover has to be removed to view the T and F marks?
I could be wrong, but I think the Clymer manual tells you to set the timing with a timing light and the procedure does not require the removal of the side cover???

You do not need to remove the left side cover. There is a plug in the top (flat head screwdriver slot in it), remove that plug and you can see the marks through that hole.

So is the rotor the same thing as the flywheel?
