85 Honda 200M starter/neutral light problems
#1
Last week I tried pull starting my atc. It had been awhile and wanted to just try it out. After starting , I never could regain the neutral light once shifting down. Also, my starter button would not work. This has never been a prob. before. I have a good battery, voltage to the neutral light, the starter coil will crank if you cross the contacts as well. I have owned this thing for a few months and don't have a service manual yet. This is my first ride so, I'm not to familar with relays, etc. yet.

WELCOME TO THE FOURMS!!!
I would check to see if the bulb is blown. Check all your wires going to the starter button to see if any are loose, broken, or disconnected.
How long have you had this bike?
How long has it been since the button worked last?
Check all these things and then you might find your problem...

I've had the bike about 3 months, I've always been able to push the start button it since I've had it. It happened after tring to pull start it. It's voltage from the neutral light to the light is about 6-7V. Starter coil is around 12-13V. I'll check the bulb next. Could there be a relay that is not engeging - under the gas tank? I'm ordering a service manual for the bike today!

I dont think there is any relays. Your solenoid could be going bad have you tried to tap on it with something and then try to electric start it? I would say your netrual light is blow that is what the volatge for it is suppose to be. Same for the starter...
