Default Leak in gas tank

I have a pinhole leak in my gas tank which is the stock 185s tank. What's the best way to plug this? I tried rubber cement and put duct tape over it for a temp fix, but I think it's starting to seep through again. Is there a tried and true way to patch this? Thanks.

I have used Kreem tank sealer. It worked Pretty good. I think I might have don it wrong when I did it by putting too much of the kreem at once. You can get it off of ebay for about 25 dollars.

I have another gas tank that looks like it was welded somewhere along the line. Where they did, it is all completely rusted through.

yea i ahd a pinhole in mine like a week ago...happend right in the middle of a trip it sucked......but i welded it closed...its just really hard cuz when its rusted through the meatl around it is really weak.....but alls we did was let the tank air out then got a stick about 3 feet long and dipped it in gas and lit it then stuck the burnin end in the top of the tank and POOF it all burns after about 3 times we let it cool and it was ok 2 weld just sometimes when we started weldin it would poof again but no big deal....(were kinda redneckish lol)

I wouldn't weld a gas tank. There's too much that can go wrong (burn through or explosion with shrapnel).

For a good fix, I'd take it to a shop and have it cleaned out and soldered. For a cheap way out, you could try to patch the hole with epoxy. But no matter what you do, if you don't get all the rust out from around where its leaking, anything you do will be temporary.
