hey guys, i bought a 1984 yamaha ytm200(shaft driven) for 50 bucks, the engine runs great, needs minor carb work like it wont run with a air filter but when i put a rag over the air filter hole it runs pretty good but doesnt like to rev up and trys to suck the rag in what can this be?? and also the gear in the drive shaft is stripped its just the small gear that runs the big gear the in diff. from the engine how much will this cost?? the only reason the gear stripped was because the casing on the bearing broke so the gear stipped. Any advise on this trike or anything would be great, I'll try to get some pics.

 

congrats on your buy. The carb mixture screw might need to be played with. If you are getting too much air in the mixture it will stall out, so may be the rag was evening the mixture and making it run.
