78 Yamaha 175 Enduro. went thru the carb a few months ago and rode it. ran fine...mixer pump went out years ago so the gas and oil is manually mixed. Went to crank it today and you cant turn it over with the kick starter..Took out the plug..Same thing..Suggestions..Apparently sitting for 2-3 months the rings have stuck..

if its stuck your going to probably need to replace the rings and hone the cylinder.

You can try to pull your plug and squirt some WD40 or equvilent, let it sit than try to kickit over, Most likely will need to pull the jug to figure out if it is a top end or bottom end problem. If it kicks over with the jug off than you most likely just have to do a top end job. If it still doesn't move than rebuild time.

Try putting it in gear and rocking it back and forth.

I tried it in gear before I put the MMO in it but I haven't tried it since. I will though.. Reckon I would have any luck with removing the side cover and trying to turn the flywheel?
