Bought a 350X

My '86 350x has a Super Trapp with the stock head pipe. It isn't too loud, it sounds pretty good. It also has a 12.5-1 Wiseco piston and is bored .30. See pictures of it and my 200x at http://www.boreal.org/~kimball/page.html

I think it was either 87 or 91 in it. I don't know because I bought it right before winter and only put one tank of gas in it. My stupid kick starter broke because of the piston. Now I know why the guy who sold it to me said I would invest in a electric start kit, but I think I will just tough it out and keep breaking kick starters and hurting my foot.
Does yours have any porting or a cam?

I dont have any porting or a cam in mine. If you keep running low octane in your bike you are gonna mess it up. I run 112oct and it cost 5 bucks a gallon. I think at the least you can run 102 and be safe. When I called wiseco they said not to use octane booster either. I dont know what the right answer is but I hate having to drive 30 minutes to get gas and paying almost 15 dollars to fill my tank.

I have a 85 350x. I was in the same boat you are.I had to replace my entire exhaust. I ended up buying DG Krome.Front to back. The pipe looks good . It doesn't fit perfect. After I had it on it stuck out an inch past the sissy bar. I made a small bracket to move it up a little and it is fine now. Also be VERY careful geting the nuts off the studs. It is a tight area. I broke one stud off in the head and had to replace it.Also you will have to get the two little copper exhaust gaskets from your dealer. Don't ge too atached to the crome finish on the headpipe. It will turn blue in the first few rides. The tailpipe still looks good. Also the Krome is VERY LOUD. My friend has the DG aluminum is not a loud. Good Luck..
