Default 84 Honda ATC 110 Questions

Just picked up an 84 ATC 110. It is in really good shape and was running fine - until I got it home. Won't start, think I have a "trash in the carb" issue. I'll pull that tonight and see what I can find.

I have a few basic questions about the ATC 110 that the previous owner could not help me with.

The first is about the fuel switch. Which way is on? All the way clockwise or counter-clockwise?

The second is about the choke. Is the choke engaged when the switch is moved all the way to the right?

And last (for now), is the Hi/Lo switch for changing the gearing range in the tranny?

Thanks

1) Fuel - It is in the "on" position in your photo. Look on the little lever, there is an arrow. Pointing down is on, up is reserve, to the side is off.

2) Choke - Look in the carb, flap closed = choke is on. Open is off. I believe to the right (up) is on and left (down) is off, but it looks like your lever may be on upside down.

3) Hi/Lo - Yes it is.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up figuring it all out today AFTER taking it all apart. Once I removed the carb it was easy enough to see how it all worked. And after I got it off and cleaned I was able to see the ON - OFF - RES written on the carb. Still not sure what the RES (Reserve?) is for since it is coming out of the same tank. The carb was packed with gunk since they were running without an air filter. Got it all cleaned up, put back on and it fired right up.

I'm sure I'll have more questions about it as I dive further in.

Its a reserve. There are two different length tubes inside the tank. The "on" line attaches to the tall one. (Once there is only an inch or so of gas left, it no longer flows into the tube). Then you switch to reserve, which is flush with the bottom of the tank and hopefully you have enough to get home.

Thanks. I guess it works in lieu of a fuel gauge.

It already seems to have a bit too much play back there so I guess that's what you are talking about. I'll be checking that out real soon. Thanks
