Default 1983 atc 185s Carb / Choke

i installed a new carb on my 185s. there is a choke lever on the carb. Do i push the lever all the way down or up to close the choke for normal riding? it runs both ways... sounds stupid but i need help...

i think so too, but it also works in the up position too. its really wierd... but i can get it to rev higher in the down position, so i think thats correct.... are these normally cold blooded? even with new carbs it takes a few min for it to warm up? if i give it full throttle , it dies ....

If you have the carb off, look at it from the back and play with the choke lever. There is a butterfly valve in the carb and when its closed the bore of the carb up, the choke is on. Usually when the lever is all the way up, the choke is fully on.

Best of luck.
