Default 1983 Honda 200e Running Rich - Please Help

I have a Honda 200e Big Red that seems to be running rich. It will idle an run ok at the start, but then seems to load up. It then starts to emit some balck smoke out of the exhaust. When the spark plug is pulled, the end of that is black and wet. There was a little junk on the needle, which we cleaned off and didn't fix the problem. We messed with the carb settings a little, but are unsure what they should be set at. Nothing seemed to help. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix it? Thank you.

Sounds like you need to clean the carb. Make sure the air filter is clean too.

Buy yourself a carb rebuild kit. There pretty cheap. As time goes on, the jet needle and seat wear out and thus allowing more gas to get buy. Will result in loading up, bad idol and running rich. Should fix your problem,

Best of luck.
