It's called the petcock and I already tried that when cleaning the carb.

this is the first I've been told about a valve problem though. Is it just a sticking problem?

usually you can take them out clean carbon off and it is good to reseat valves with a lapping tool and compound but make sure you clean head good when your done

you should try to make it run leaner before taking the motor apart.....put the clip up a notch, so that the needle sits lower.... i wouldnt worry about the idle right now, just get the proper jetting while riding it around. then you can adjust the idle mix screw. if you are gonna take the motor apart, id send it to a machine shop that does this kind of work.....

I tried to change the clip position and it wouldn't even run. I put it back where it was and it ran fine. It's just every once and a while it starts running like crap and you can't rev it up because it keeps cutting out for a few minutes and then just like that it takes right off and runs fine again. Also, sometimes when it sits at an idle and you shift it in to gear and go to take off it gargles a little bit before it takes off. As far as the motor goes, I know how to do that part without a problem but this carb issue is ticking me off. Has anybody ever plugged off the return line and tried a different carb on these things? I've got a pitbike carb that's the same thing but it doesn't have the return line on it.

I was out riding around today and realized that it's usually when the machine gets warm it runs like crap. I pulled it inside and popped the CDI cover off and the points didn't look too good. Then I pulled the head off and found that there was a broken outside exhaust valve spring. There is also another piece broken off the plate that holds the points in place that is very hard to explain. I have looked at several fiches and can't find it in any of the diagrams. Does anybody know where I can find a more detailed picture?
