Default Air in the tires

I was looking at my service manual and it stated that 2.2 psi is recomended in the tires. I have a needle air gauge that will read 1psi. My question is that I put in the recomended 2.2 and the tires were hard! My 200s has front suspension, but the aount of air seemed a but much, not havimg rear suspension. Should I get a digital gauge or deflate them to a point that seems apropriate.

Thanks in advance!!!

Default Air in the tires

The minimum is 1.7psi and the max is 2.6psi. But the best and most accurate way is to inflate it to a circumference of 75.6 in.
