Default 1981 ATC 250r All original. Top end question.

Picked up an 1981 Honda atc 250r in GREAT condition for cheap. The guy that had it said he put some seafoam in it and put the last tank with 30:1 oil mixture. NOW the question area. The bike stats 20:1 on the decal on the tank. Smokes....and good bit. Runs very strong but on the test ride I started it with one kick and it was cold drove it about a 1/4 miles and back. Has plenty power just seemed like the powerband was in and out. I kinda figured it would be at LEAST the rings. What else could I be looking at and does the powerband sometimes do that if the bike was cold? Didn't ride it to see if it got better. I had an 02 blaster that you didn't always feel the powerband kick in also until it warmed up so idk what to think. Anyone with advice? I'll prob get whatever is wrong fixed mainly because of the condition of this bikes. It's looks like its a year old. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Thanks

Come to find out top end is fine. The tank Said 20:1 had put 30:1 Honda says 40:1 unless honda oil then 36:1. Was running rich. Bye Bye smoke. Powerband issue was just from it had not been ran recently much. Good to go.

Most 2 strokes need to warm up before they will run real good and will run longer if you run it easy for a few minutes first.
