Default 200S vs 200M question

I currently have a 1984 200m and am looking at a 1984 200s. I do not see a difference except for electric. Could anyone please tell me the difference? Also, where can I purchase new fenders? Thanks for the help.

Default 200S vs 200M question

The 200M has electric start and 2 piece rear fenders, which no one makes. Good luck finding decent used ones.

200S has no electric start and a one piece rear fender. Maier makes a replacement, but I don't think it has the trunk. Maybe the 200S can be modified to fit the 200M???

Default 200S vs 200M question

The 200s was a sport model. It was an upgraded version of the 185s which was a very popular pre-rear suspension sport atv.

The 200m was a stripped down utility model. Very similiar to the original Big Reds of 82 and 83.

Both are decent fun 3 wheelers but the 200s was geared for the sport rider and the 200m was the more dual purpose utility/sport machine.

The 200s is faster and lighter. Depending on what you are looking for.

Default 200S vs 200M question

The forks are the exact same design, so neither is a better setup. The major differances are frame size as the 200m is a bigger machine, and fork width spacing as the 200m runs 25x12 high floataion instead of the 22x11 like on the 200s.

They dont make 200m plastic. Best bet is a set of trx250 (85-87) that si made by meiers. Its not a dirrect fit, but tis about the right size and shape that it could be made to fit and cover the bike in all the needed areas.

I can get some pictures if you need as I have one of both.

The 84-85 200M is a hybrid of a 83 200E chassis and an 83 200 engine....... with the only new feature being electric start.

The 84-86 200S is a hybrid of a 83 185S chasiss and an 83 200 engine....... with the only new feature being updated plastics.

Default 200S vs 200M question

Thanks for all the replies. I was hoping I could use the tires and gas tank off the S as my son loves the electric start of the M. If the S is faster, I don't want the little gear head to ride that one as he is already crazy on the M. I'll check on the the plastic. Thanks again.
