I just bought an 85 250sx for parts. It was complete but didn't start. I cleaned the carb (very dirty) and now it starts right up and runs, but there is a ticking sound coming from the engine. Sounds like its from the top/middle right side. If the engine speeds up the ticking speeds up. Some times it stops for a couple seconds then you hear it again. Doesn't seem to matter if the engine is warm or cold. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Should I try to fix it or just ride it and when it dies then use it for parts for my other 250sx?
