Honda Big Red 1983 200ES
Just bought an 1983 200ES. YES, it is an 1983, with papers to prove it.
It is practically brand new. Fantastic machine with only one drawback: NO REVERSE !!! I was told by an "expert" that somebody made a replacement unit
for the HI/LO lever that would allow one to add a reverse gear to that ATC.
Any truth to that statement ? If yes, anybody knows where to get it ??

i have never heard of that before. ive actually never heard of an 83 200ES. there was only the 200E that was in 83. the 200ES was in 84. are u sure the papers are right? 200ES is shaft drive. if ur bike is not shaft drive then it is a 200E which reverse cannot be put on it.

Melvin. Well....., the registration paper issued by the government for licensing
state that it is an 1983. It is shaft driven, has electric start and cord back-up with a decompression lever. What can I say ? To come back to my original question, is an adapter available ? Or is it available for a 1984 ? Thank you for your answer.
Appreciate all the help I can get.

well there is no such thing as a 83 200ES. so something is wrong with that registration. if its shaft drive there should be reverse on the lever to switch from high and low. could u maybe post a picture of the sub trans so we can see what is up. maybe the lever is broken so it wont go in reverse.
