Default 1983 Honda Big Red

Hey guys..new to this site today. I still have my 1983 200ES Big Red..Think I paid about $1700 new for it back then. Well anyhow when I bought it, I was smart enough to buy the factory Honda service manual for repairs down the road, and dumb enough to not remember where I put the darn thing.

To my surprise the only thing I have put in this machine in 25 yrs is gas and about 5-6 batteries. The sad part is now I need the manual I can't remember where I put it. Well any how the original tires just faded away and died so I bought two Carliles Strykers for the front and a kendra scorpion for the front.. I got the backs on, but whats the procedure in removing the front tire after taking off the axle nut. Does it unthread or pound out. I want to remove tire and rim and replace the tire with the rim, plus install new brakes. Any hints on these two procedures will be much appreciated. Also anyone have any info on the best place to buy OEM parts or aftermarket parts for this Big Red? (already checking Ebay) And lastly what year parts will fit the 83'? Like will 1982,83,84 and 85 all interchange? Hey and Thanks Much BigWhit

Usually the manual will say like in my case 84-86 200s, so if you find the manual for your trike, if it has multiple years in the title then it most likely interchanges parts with those years (but this may not be true with all models).

As for oem parts, if you can't find it on ebay, I would use bikebandit.com
Don't know anything about the front brake hub and etc yet... I will soon though .

Is it an 83 or a 200ES? The 83 was chain drive (200E), 84 was shaft drive (ES) w/ reverse. The front axle "pounds out", Just dont wreck those threads!

Most parts interchange between the 82 and 83 200E (both chain drive). A lot of parts from the 84 do also, just not the drive components.

I restored an 82 (see my pics). Most of the parts I used were from an 83. The 82 has different lower forks and front axle than the 83 and 84, and are impossible to find so I used an 83 front end. I redid pretty much everything on it so just ask. My brother in law has an 83 he wants me to fix now too, just dont have the room at the moment. I get my OEM Honda parts from hondaparts-direct.com, but most everything for the Big Red is discontinued.

I have the Honda manual for the 82-83 200E.
