84 200X Installing New rings/piston - help
#1
This weekend I am going to try taking off the **** end of my trike and replace the bearings(god help me), within the next month or so I am wanting to replace the piston and rings.....i have never done this before, but I am some what handy. Here is my thinking of how things might get played out......PLEASE someone put me in line with reality and how it SHOULD be done. 1st do I have to take the motor out to replace the rings and pistons? If I don't my plan is to clear most away to make it a little easier to get into without grim falling into the cylinder. OK after reading this ...I think if I wrote everything I was going to do I would be here hours.....anyway great site, and thanks for any help!

Yes, you will need to remove the engine
Get the manual, search this site for a free downloadable one. I know it's here since I myself have downloaded it.
Here it is http://72.52.143.80/~trikes/
