Default Honda ATC 110 1985

I acquired an 85 Honda ATC 110 a few years ago. Initially at that point I replaced the air filter, changed the spark plug, and rebuilt the carburetor. I was never able to consistently start this thing.
2 years later, here I am trying to get this thing going and I cannot still start this. I have fresh gas in it. Plenty of spark, same plug and air filter. Before I put some fresh gas in this thing I had a little bit of old gas in it. I sprayed some starter fluid in there and I was able to get it running but it wouldn't stay idling. I've since put some premium gas in the tank and it won't even start at all. So I guess my initial question is what do I set each needle valve at initially after a carb rebuild? After pulling the cord 15 times, should I put a fresh spark plug in it being that it could be fouled from so much gas? Anyone have any other ideas? I'm tired of pulling the cord

It sounds like either you are not getting gas into carb
or
carb is still plugged up
you say it was cleaned 2 years ago but how was it cleaned
I would check again
You know it will start so issue has to be fuel
Thanks

Thanks for your reply. I took apart the carburetor and rebuilt it just like you would on an automobile carb. I bought a rebuild kit from the local Honda parts place. Do you know what the 2 jets are suppose to be set at? I tried initially backing them out a turn and a half but still haven't had any luck. So you are saying maybe in the two years it sat around maybe some build up accumulated since then?

With the gasoline we get today it does go bad in in some cases less than 4 months
The only jets in carb are the main jet and the idle jet these screw in tight
I am guessing you are refering to the Air/Fuel adjust this is set at about 1.5 turns out
The other on the slide cylinder is for idle rpm adjust and should not have been removed for cleaning
These carbs do have several internal bleeds that need to be cleaned but they need to be soaked in carb cleaner to properly clean
Thanks

Ray,
It looks like that's where I probably went wront. I removed everything when I rebuilt the carb. With the main metering jet is there a way to reset it? if so what do I reset it at, or should I just start over new? or just buy a new carb? Where is the best place to buy a carb for this model?

Thanks,
Jason

You said the idling jet was 1 1/2, and the main jet I wasn't supposed to touch but I did. What do I set that at?

The main jet is inside of carb and simply tightens

Sorry about all the confusion. Yes, you are right about the main jet being inside the carb. The metering screws I have been fooling around with are on the left hand side of the atc. The one towards the rear appears to be the idling screw and the one towards the front appears to do some metering as well. I guess the one in question is the one towards the front. It's been a few years since I broke the carb down but does that one get screwed all the way in? or does it come out 1 1/2 turns? Wish I had a picture to make it easier.

Thanks,
Jason

The one toward the front is the idle air fuel and start about 1.5 turns out
the other is the idle screw
I would look inside of throat of carb and adjust until it just begins to lift the slide
work slide slightly with thumb throttle so it no stick and give false adjust
you can fine tune adjus idle once engine running
Thanks
