84 honda 200m wont start
Its a buddies
History, The thing was spitting oil and smoke out of the exhaust
we had to replace the cyclinder it was really beat up the piston and rings
The wiring harness is in bad shape
At first he was not able to get spark
I was able to rewire it so now it has spark
At first it would try to start but back fire on 1 out of 10 turn overs
we thought it was the timing so we adjusted that got the info from the manual and this site
everything is lined up
But now its just nothing no back fire or anything
It is getting gas and it is sparking
any ideas or questions?
Thanks

go thru the harness piece by piece, only takes one bad connection to ruin your day... check your compression, with the head work make sure compression is what it should be. check the compression release also. dble check the timing to be sure. more than likely its electrical even if you have spark. had a similar issue with a 4 wheeler one time.

Hey guys thanks for the info
It seems the compression was the issue.... He replaced the cylinder with his old one it fired right up needed to adjust the timing a little bit but we were out on the trails for ours yesterday....
He actually has the engine on a quad frame he bought it like that for 100 bucks
It runs pretty good for the most part
