Please help with 200M brake drum
#1
Hi new to this great forum and new owner of a rough 1985 Honda 200M. Here is my problem the rear axle bearings are bad. I have read on here how to change bearings, problem is the brake drum is stuck on. It was full of dirt and water due to a bad seal and now wont come off. I believe it is splined. I have removed the nuts tried penetrating oil, hitting the axle with a sledge and block of wood and also heat. I just want to make sure it is splined along with the axle, I removed the rear assy and was going to take it to work and really heat it with a welding/cutting torch and if needed replace the drum. Any other ideas? Thanks Jason

Welcome to the forum. Had the same problem a few times myself. Yes the axle and drum are splined. I have heard that heat will work but since I don't have access to that I get a big slide hammer drill 4 small holes and work it off evenly. Also if you're using penetrating oil there should be a rubber seal by the splines that needs to come out
