Default tri-z or tecate

i used to have an 85' tecate and loved it. i totaled it mid 85' race season, so then what money i got when i parted it out, i bought an 85' black/red tri-z and loved it. i had pretty good mods on it, and raced it until they banned 3-wheelers. it sat in my garage until 96' and i sold it to a friend for $600. i wished i never did that. anyway i recently got back into atvs and i now own a raptor 250 and a yfz450r both modded. but i was thumbing through old dirt wheels mags and would like to buy another trike i wish i could find a tiger ltd. rotax 500. but i think a tri-z,or tecate might be easier to find.

The Tecate's are very rare these days, and parts for them are even more rare. Just do a search on Ebay for "tecate" and you'll see what I mean. Then do a search for "tri-Z" and they have twice the parts. If you're patient you'll find the right Tecate. You can find Tri-Z's everywhere in restorable condition, and the good thing is, alot of Yamaha's parts are interchange-able. I've never heard of the Tiger Rotax - wow!

tecates and tri-z are getting harder and harder to find, the first generation tecates 84-85 are easier to find but are nothing like the 86-87's. I found a nice 86 this summer from the original owner cheap. Love the thing and would never get rid of it. Never rode something to fast. Tigers were the biggest and baddest but are very rare to find and if you do lots of $$.

I'm not a huge Kawasaki or Tecate fan, but that is a good looking Tecate!

yes they were all great trikes, the atc250r was the most popular, but i love yamaha power bands. the old photos my mom found of my racing days in the 80's are pretty cool. so i then began to venture through the storage. i found my stash of dirt wheels and 3&4 wheel action mags. high school, and my 69' chevelle photos. that yfz450r i own is pretty wicked, but remembering the days when 3-wheelers ruled and how many times are sport has been threatend, and we pulled through. i really like this section in atv connection and love to here peoples stories of now and then...
