Default Piston rings

I see rings on ebay that say they fit oem pistons that are .010 and .020 over.
I have rebuilt a few of these 110 and 185 motors with new pistons.

Has anyone just replaced the rings .010 over and had the cylinder boared to specs for the rings and used the oem piston? This seems like a dumb question.

if you just change the rings to .010 over the clearance between the piston and rings will have too much play in it as well as the piston to cylinder

Thanks, I thought that would be the case. Just keep seeing sets of rings on ebay that say they fit oem pistons. I imaging the piston would slap around in the cylinder.

The rings are around $25 and the entire piston kit is only around $50. I'll spend the money and do it right.

Thanks for the reply
