I need to replace the basket on my clutch, how do you remove the primary drive gear from the basket? Is it something a shop has to do? or is there some trick I am missing(never changed one before). Any info would help, thanks

Mine was 15 years old and it came right out with a little pushing from my fingers. I would try tapping it out using a large socket and hammer or putting it in a vice and pressing it out.

Ya I just got my new hinson and they tell how to remove it, they also say you have to bevel the edge on the smaller gear that dives the clutch to keep it from rubbing.
