Question Backfiring through the carb?!

Hello all, its been almost 8-9 years I think since I have posted on here, just bought a trike again!

1984 yamaha ytm200 - chain driven

I have rebuilt the carb and I am not sure where to go with the carb settings. I have a service manual but it only shows one carb model and I believe there are two.

Mine had the pilot screw on the bottom, not on the "side" of the carb. I was wondering if this is related to the backfiring, I have checked the timing and valve clearance and they are both good. Exhaust is not plugged.

Any help is more than welcomed!

Make sure you don't have a vaccum leak around carb
