I'd offer no more than $500.00 and that's if the motor isn't seriously destroyed. Look it over really good. That price wouild drop considerably if the motor needs to be totally redone.
Get pictures of it and I'll tell you if it is a '87 or not. Look at the frame tag infront of the gas tank and see if it is actually a '86 or '85 or '87. I just got one that needs motor work for $450. I feel I got a good deal as long as nothing too major is wrong.
