I talked to Edddie Sanders Racing yesterday. They claim the HP numbers on the 370 kit is 70-75 with low-mid porting. Do any of you have this motor? What do you think? Any probs/failures with this motor? I'm in the process of tearing down my bottom end and I'm looking for any advice y'all might have as to this motor setup. The PSI 425 is in this same area, but I've heard of some reliability issues on this site. Input is needed. I'm rebuilding a '85 from the tires up. If you have this setup, what pipe/carb have you used?

Thanks,

kciH

well there has been some reliability issues with the 425 from psi. but thier horsepower rating s are from the tires.so they do put down 75 horse to the ground,as where eddie sanders motors are 70 horse at the crank. theres a big difference.
if you have any questions about the 425 psi kit you should call rath racing and talk to daryl.he's very tight with psi and he runs thier kits.and i think they have most of thier reliability issues ironed now.
but don't think that eddie sanders don't buld a good motor,i would say they are among the best enginerred setups in the business.the quality is second to none and you will get whatever he says your getting.eddie knows is $****.

Why not a CR500 top end on your bottom end? www.macracinginc.com

Just buy yourself an 86 350X, that'll cost less and give ya more HP.More bang for your buck. Idunno about anyone else, but is the 350X not the baddest 4 stroke ever, besides a ds 650.

350Xrider,

What are you smoking????? You can't compare a 250R with a 350X. They are on way different leages. The 350X is a sporty 3 wheeler but a 250R is a racing machine that will kill a 350X any race, any gear, anytime.

I decided to go with a Pro-x 350 Power valve motor. I didn't want to go with the stroked crank because of reliability concerns. I think it should rip pretty good still.

Hey Orlando,
Stock for stock a 350x wasn't all that far off the R, and I think the top speed was a radar confirmed 71-72 miles per hour. I had a stock R clocked at over 75 with bigger tires and that was on a gravel road, so I'm sure the vehicle clocking me had some degree of slippage at that speed. I think they were as fast on the top end.

my 350x will run 72 on flat pavement. sure an R will win on the open spaces but in the deep woods and twisty trails it's a whole different ballgame!
