Hey, what does anyone know about the Honda 250sx? How was the rear end, nice rear suspension? Do you think the swing arm would ft on an 85 Fourtrax 250?

These machines are shaft drive, electric start, reverse, play machines. I have an '85 I've had since it was new. I used to use it 100-250 days a year for it's first6-7 years and less frequently now. I've replaced 3 spark plugs, one throttle cable,1 air filter, too many batteries, and kept the oil changed. It still runs very well but I think it needs a rebuild.

It is the same swingarm as the Big Red, so it might work on the utility four wheeler as they most likely shared the same parts. If you go to one of the websites that has a parts fiche online (bike bandit, troy racing) you might be able to see if the part numbers are the same.

Everything from the TRX250,ATC250SX, and ATC250ES BigRed will interchange regarding the rear ends, BUT it has to be of the same year model range.

The 1985 rearends were different from the '86-'87 models. If you use the rearend from an '85 then it will only work with another '85 model.

Someparts are in the rearend are the same for all years, but if you are swapping the whole rear end, you must get one from the same year.

Also keep in mind while the rearends are similar, the swingarms are not. The ATC models are the same for the according year model, but the TRX swingarm is longer and to use it in an ATC, you will need the drive shaft from the TRX if you are changing swingarms also. Rear shock mount is in the same locations. No problems with the shock.

There may be other differences, but these are what I can remember.
