My wifes brother-in-law has a '86 250SX that he was about to sell and now it has no spark. I have all the 185-200 electrical specs but nothing for his model, and would be thankful if anyone could post the specs.

He did tell me just before he lost spark him and his buddy took the 250sx CDI and tried it on a non-running 300 fourtrax(since they looked the same) and then put it back on the SX and it started right up and he took off and when he shifted to second gear it quit and now has no spark. I told him just cuz the CDIs looked the same doesn't mean they are and he probably wrecked the SX CDI.

Any one have a service manual they can scan? Most the specs aren't bad to type up but CDI specs are a real pain to type up clearly, I know from experience.

You can try 250sx manual BUT i guess the 250sx is down right now it seems but its a start.
