if you guys don't believe me thats fine, but i know what my bike does. i have had it for 6 years and my father bought it brand new in '85. a lot of guys don't break their engines in right and thats why they can't acheive high speeds. most people follow the manual for break in. you have to break your motor in the way you are gonna ride it, and my father broke it in to run fast in top end. he held it wide open for 2 miles when he got it home. he beat my uncles 200x('84) by about a bike length. he beat two brand new 250 timberwolfs that the guys just bought that day. i've beaten 225dx's(and dr's) and blasters along with many other utility bike like kodiaks arctic cat 400's and suzuki 400's. plus, just the other day i beat a 250x with a full white brothers exhaust on it. i only beat him by a couple feet but i beat him. every bike is different, so i can't say all of them will run that fast, but i know mine did. and don't interpret this as an angry reply, i was just trying to state the facts.

 

Incase you didnt know RPM, tire size and gearing is what controls your top speed, not your break in. LMAO

 

I have had mine up to 56mph with gps.

drummerguy84, a 110 won't go 48 mph!!! i race a 110 on my 82 big red and it gets it's *** kicked!!! and mine gets clocked out at 45 mph!!!! So i don't know where you got that!!!!!!

Well sorry bud, but the Yamaha 225 DX is better for wheelies than the SX... They are so light in the fornt end! Mine will seriously hold the front wheel off the ground through the first three gears and if i really try i can get t back up for a little bit in fourth!

 

And you guys are all outta your minds to think a 250SX wont break 60MPH!!! Our 200M was clocked at 50MPH on pavement with a car. So damn straight the SX will break 60!

 

haha, i think my 200es will only do 35......but if i put in in low gear, it will drag a 250sx, 200x and the yamaha all at the same time.......................... btw, cant imagine a machine better suited to wheelies than an sx, i had one and it was the best wheelie machine ive ever owned....... this topic makes me want to buy another one

actually the best wheelie machine is a 85-86 250r atc!!! and my 82 200es will do 45 on the beach lol! your machine must be warn out lol!!!!
