Does anyone have any good tricks to adjust the chain without breaking off all the little teeth on the axle carrier. I would like to get the tool for it but I bet its pretty high.

The best thing you can do to make your chain adjustment easy is to make sure you maintain your bearing carrier so it doesn't get corroded into the swingarm. While you have the carrier out, check the bearings and make sure they have grease. You can also recut the teeth in the carrier with a file if they are getting rounded a little so you don't completely ruin it. The chain adjustment is much easier if you have the back of the trike off the ground when you do it. While you're at it make sure you lube your suspension pivots. And..most importantly, make SURE you maintain your swingarm pivot bearings or you can have a real nightmare on your hands.

You can get the tool for about $25 bucks. I would just get an adjustable spanner for adjusting rear shocks, they cost about $15 and can be used for many different things.
