Free ATC 250R?
#1
I've got an 84 Honda ATC 250R that I can't decide what to do with it?
It hasn't run in years, and my best guess is that it needs a new CDI. The engine always ran real strong when it ran. The problem is that nearly everything else on this quad is broke, bent, or just plain worn out. When I look in the recyclers I can find other 250R's in great condition for $1,000 to $2,000 and it would surely take at least that much in replacement parts to get mine into that condition. Not to mention the time involved.
There's really not much on it that I could auction off in good conscience as I feel like the whole bike has been ridden to the end of it's useful life, and I'm the kind of person that likes my bikes to be ultra reliable and in great 100% condition. I think the engine is good, but without the CDI I can't be 100% sure.
I'm tired of pushing this thing around my garage. Should I just put it out for the trash man?
I live in Simi Valley, California if anyone's interested in it. Not interested in shipping it, expensive and too much hassle.

tear it apart and put good parts on ebay. who knows what people need. they have stopped making parts for those. put miscellaneous stuff in boxes and bid them out. might be bent or whatever its still worth something to someone. if you have honda bolts with drilled out heads they are worth something.

well now I'm not sure what to do with it? E-bay seems like alot of hassle for a little money, but maybe it's worth a shot and if there's no interest then I'll auction it for 1 cent?
If anyone wants to see a pic, post your e-mail address and I'll send it to you. Sorry, but I don't have a website.

Don't throw it away. The parts are going to be vital to 3wheelers in the future. I ride an 86R and have been gathering parts over the years. If your just looking to give the bike a new home I would be willing to pick it up. I have a few buddys on other message boards that I'm sure could use the parts. Send me an email with the pics and we can arrange a time for pick-up.
