Default 200x?

i might be able to get one of these for real cheap. How do they compare suspension wise to a atc250r or 350x?
Also are they pretty quick? What mods can be done for pretty cheap to make them faster?
Thanks

They are okay but not as good as the r or 350x. Don't buy an 83-84 because they had tranny problems. 85 and 86 are okay though. They aren't really worth modding. You can buy a 350x for what it would cost you to mod the 200x and the 350 will still be faster and worth more.

what type of riding will you be doing? The 200X is an excellect all around bike, I have a 84 and we have not had any problems with it and we bought it used in 84. You can make this bike run close to a 350X without putting a fortune into it. I have a 85 350X as well(stock). Although you will never get the same amount of torque out of a 200. My 200 out accelerates and has better top end than Warriors, and 300EX's. But the 200X is a very fun bike. Let me know if you want any recomm. on mods for the 200.

I would mostly be useing it for the dunes, and maybe since its a 4 stroker i woud use it in the mud and on trails which i never see on my banshee. But I donno i can't get a hold of the kid selling it.

AlkyBurninX, the '83-85 ATC200X use the same engine with 5-speed tranny, it is the '86-87 200X that has the stronger 6-speed. Either way, the earlier 200X tranny is not "weak", and I've never heard of one failing before a conrod or piston, etc...

Alaska, your right about the 85. thanks for correcting me. However, you haven't seen a 83-84 shell third gear?

nah, I haven't ever seen a 200X lose a tranny, but I've seen two '83-'85 bikes throw a con rod...

how built up were the trikes that were losing third???
