i have heard that you could use a 400ex header on a 350X, i know it will bolt up to the head, but is cosiderally longer. does anyone have any info on this modification

The 400ex headpipe will fit on the 350x head, but I'm not sure how it will match up with the silencer on the 350x frame. Most people use the 400ex pipe on the 350x when they have them installed in quad frames. I have a 400ex pipe on my 350x in a 250x frame.

The bend seems to be close, but not quite the same. I am guessing you would have to fabricate a small piece of pipe to connect the head pipe and silencer. You might be better off getting some kind of aftermarket headpipe for the 400ex to get close to the correct bend that you need. If you compare pictures of both they are pretty close.

I haven't tried to replace the exhaust studs. I would guess a torch and maybe some liquid wrench with the use of some small vice grips. Mine seem to come out when I don't want them to and then strip out when I go put them back in. That's the thing to be careful with steel and aluminum don't match up too well.

yea, one of mine is bent, and the other three i think is cross threaded, the guy that put my motor back on the frame used different bolts, smart huh, he even screwed up all the motor mount bolts, got to get those too, i recon ignorance and wrenches dont mix
