resurrecting dead 110 ATC
#1
Just bought ( cheap ) an 84 110 ATC that's been sitting a while. I would love any
advice or knowlege on the following :
Carb - it's leaking fuel when the fuel valve is turned on. I'm planning on just pulling it, cleaning
it with carb cleaner, and putting it back together. Is a stuck float the likely suspect ? Do I need
to get a rebuild kit, or can I just re-assemble it after cleaning.
Compresssion - seems low. I may have to re-ring it ( I'll try to get it started first, but . . ). If I do
put in new rings, when I pull the head, and then the
jug, how do I make sure I get the cam timing right when I re-assemble? I can scribe a mark on the
cam, I expect, but how do I make sure I get the crank/piston back in the right spot relative to the
cam , since I'm sure they will get moved around while I'm working on it ?
Clutch - allegedly needs to be replaced, but I won't know until I get it running. There is a nut with a
screw on the right crankcase that looks like an adjust, but I'm not familiar with these trikes. How do
you adjust the clutch ? ( if that's even what that fitting is for . . . )
If I do need to replace the clutch - any trick to it, or is it pretty straightforward ?
I know I threw a lot out there . . . I hope to get this thing running without dumping too much money
into it - I like to trail ride ( as opposed to race/motocross type riding ) on my old 200M, and it would
be nice to take my son along. That's why I picked up the 110, even though it will take a little work.
Thanks much to anyone that takes the time to give any advice . . .

Your carb problem is most likely a stuck float, its happened to me before. You might as well clean it while your doin that.Your compression might not be low because even after i got my motor rebuilt i could still roll it over with two fingers. The nut and screw is the clutch adjustment. Here are the instructions from my manuel:
Loosen the lock nut,and turn the clutch adjuster(screw) counterclockwise until you feel resistance. Then turn 1/8-1/4 turn clockwise, and tighten the locknut to hold the adjuster in this position.
[Be sure to hold the screw in place with a screw driver while tightening the nut]
Good luck and i hope i helped
PS:You should try not to use the fuel switsh too much because the tend to leak if you do.
