Default anyone good on 110 trannys ?

I have a good running '85 110 - just got it. But it's not shifting . It will engage 1st from netural every time, but won't get second on up. I ran a de-gunk agent thru it, drained, and then put in Mobil1 5W30, hoping to free it up ( it had been sitting for an unknown length of time ).

Lever isn't stripped - clutch SEEMS OK, it engages fine, but seems to have quite a bit of creep. I assume
that's normal.

When you try to shift, the shift lever seems to 'miss' - no resistance. Every once in a while,.
it will 'catch', get a grip, and will engage the next gear. After playing with it, I've found that with the
engine off, I can get it to engage gears more easily that with the engine running - if that makes any
sense.

I am thinking that I have a worn shift drum. Can I pull and replace that with the engine in the
frame ? Or does reaplcing a shift drum mean pulling the motor and splitting the case ?

any experience or insights welcome . . . .

You have a broken stopper plaw. Very commom in 90, 110s and 125m. This is a one hour job, will cost you about $18 for the new paw and $14 for the clutch cover gasket.
